You might be interested to know that a certain LM has turned one recently!
While I don't talk about her much here, she has transformed so much in this past month from a teeny infant unable to hold her head up to a walking (god help me) talking (sort of) toddler. It has been a truly astounding and humbling experience. One of the saddest parts for me about keeping DN and my real life identity separate is that I can't share a picture of the little girl she has become with you. If you've been a good blog friend/long time commenter (Christina, Juno, etc) email me and I'll send you one privately...
*******
In other news, we are into November. I have accepted the NaNo challenge, but put my own twist on it. My goal is to add 50k words to the novel. For those who haven't read the Prologue and 10 current posted chapters, start here. As I finish chapters, I will publicly post them and each Monday I'll post how many words I've been able to add to keep myself honest and accountable. With luck I'll have a full first draft by the end of the month.

I've been waiting to tell you until it was posted, but I now have a regular column over at Carnal Nation. My column, like my first article for them, is entitled "Sexy Mother," and will be a monthly column about sex and parenting.
This month's column is entitled Naked Truth...please go, read, and rate.

Okay guys...the promised posting schedule
I've given a lot of thought to this. What's a realistic posting schedule for me? When I started this blog, I posted almost daily. When I became pregnant posting dropped precipitiously, and once I had the LM (Little Mistress for my new readers) it became spotty and the quality I'd been so proud of also dropped. My current regular readership is about 1/2 of what it was 2 years ago.
So now what I'm going to do in order to publicly recommit to my writing and my blog is to promise all of you (even if it's only 5 of you and the rest of my hits are random google searches) that I will blog twice a week, every week. I may do the occasional 3rd post of a funny bit, or something too small to be a longer post, but twice a week you will be getting quality posts from me. I count a week as Monday-Sunday. No promises about which days I'll post (that's perhaps a bit too much pressure for the mother of a young child), but there will be two quality posts a week. If you want to know when I've put up a new post, add me to your feedreader.
And no, this doesn't count as one of the posts for this week.

So, I've been babbling on about this whole motherhood and sexuality thing here in a vaguely incoherent way for quite a while now. But I finally put it all together as a coherent, professional article, which you can read (and digg, and vote on) at Carnal Nation.
Click here to read "Sexy Mother"
As a side note...we're traveling again and I'll be out of country until 9/12. Expect (continuing) spotty posting until then. On one hand we've had an amazing summer of travel (and yes, with the baby the whole time) but my poor blog has definitely been suffering a perfect storm of really difficult private stuff that makes blogging feel like talking around a gag, travel and the spotty internet access that comes with it, and when we haven't been traveling it's been all about prepping for the next trip and getting all the real life nonsense done in between trips.
I will make a solemn promise though...once we're back, I'll figure out a regular posting schedule, publicly commit to it and you can hold me accountable if I don't stick with it.

Yes, this is a repost from last year, but I think it deserves an annual resurrection.
The idea for "12 Freudian Days of Christmas" struck me during a cosmopolitan drenched evening with Gayhusband a few years ago (my gay best friend; do not confuse with Sexyhusband or I might not get my Christmas Spanking).
Basically the back story is that we were talking about how Freud thought everything was about sex, and off the cuff I started drunkenly spouting off about how "The Twelve Days of Christmas" was a perfect example of a song that had a Freudian interpretation, and going through it day by day.
Gayhusband thought it was funny, and made me write it down. So, in the spirit of the season, here it is...I hope you enjoy it, and if you do, worship at my adorable feet. If not...blame him.
A Freudian Interpretation of the Classic Song “The Twelve Days of Christmas”
First Day: A Partridge in a Pear Tree
A tree is an over sized bush. An over sized bush represents a woman's pubic hair (perhaps unruly?). The bird in the bush is the clitoris. Small bird in a tree-he can't find the clitoris.
Second Day: Two Turtle Doves
Two people having romantic sex (being "lovey dovey")
Third Day: Three French Hens
Menage a trois, obviously; the french, the invocation of three.
Fourth Day: Four Calling Birds
The four call girls he patronizes.
Fifth Day: Five Golden Rings
Obvious fear of commitment
Sixth Day: Six Geese a-Laying
An allusion to a woman’s fertility...the eggs dropping into or "laying" itself in the womb
Seventh Day: Seven Swans a Swimming
The sperm swimming towards the egg
Eighth Day: Eight Maids a Milking
Lactation, either that of a mother or a fetish relating to lactating women, most likely the latter
Ninth Day: Nine Ladies Dancing
Obsessed with strippers.
Tenth Day: Ten Lords a Leaping
Did someone visit a gay bar?
Eleventh Day: Eleven Pipers Piping
Someone did visit a gay bar and went piping (i.e. performed fellatio-perhaps in the bathroom?)
Twelfth Day: Twelve Drummers Drumming
Perhaps it was a leather bar, and someone was drummed on the ass? Spanking fetish at any rate.
Diagnosis-patient is severely disturbed

Well, my friends...I have failed.
I announced with more than a little bravado and balls on November 1rst that not only was I doing the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) Challenge of writing a 50k novel in 30 days, but I was going to write 60K words.
I was doing really well for the first two weeks. I had my outline, I had many hot sex scenes, the plot was developing well.
Then real life stuck it's nose into my writing and I got distracted. I'm not going into details here, but there was much drama over what life would be like in the New Year. It was all consuming, and should be resolved by Monday, at which point I'll disclose whatever is appropriate. For those of you who read between the lines, yes, a pontential long distance relationship was in the works.
As for the writing, I'm not giving up on the novel.
However, I feel it's only fair to publicly admit that this year I bit off more than I can chew.

So here is an excerpt from my Nano Novel. This is my Main Character losing her virginity...she's a bit repressed so it isn't necessarily as sex positive as I usually write.
Keep in mind that NaNo is about word count, and not necessarily deathless prose.
**********************************************
Channing hadn’t been her first lover. In high school she’d fallen under the spell of Nicholas, a handsome baseball player. She’d hung around the fringes of his group, hoping he’d notice her, which he finally did during the winter of her Junior year of high school. He’d asked her to the Winter Dance. She’d accepted, and on the drive home, he’d found a secluded spot in the woods.
She remembered how Nicholas (never Nick) had started kissing her, and how his lips had created a liquid tug in her low body. The tug had been so pleasurable that she hadn’t murmured even a token protest when his hand slid to her zipper and pulled it down. The dress had been shoved to her waist, and her breasts fondled. While the kiss had been exciting, the rough handling of her breasts had been less so.
“That hurts,” she’d said.
“Don’t worry, you’ll like it,” he’d replied and had reached over her to the control that would tip her seat back.
He climbed on top of her, distracting her with the kisses that made her protestations quiet. When he kissed her breasts, instead of squeezing and pinching them, she felt the liquid pleasure again, and let him part her legs. He’d lifted her skirt, and pulled down her panties before she fully understood that he wanted to do more than fool around.
“I don’t think we should….” She began but he kissed her into submission, having realized how easy she would be if he just kept kissing her.
She heard him unzip his pants, and his hands moved to her thighs, lifting and parting them. He kissed her for a few moments, sending her into an erotic haze that lasted long enough for him to fish out a condom and get it on. Then he kissed her again as his cock nudged her folds.
“Just let me put the tip in. I need you so much. You’ll like it,” he murmured between kisses.
She didn’t entirely consent, but she didn’t protest as he forced the head of his cock into her narrow passage. He just kept kissing her, slowing moving until he found resistance. Then he took hold of her hips, and as he had so many times before, shoved through her cherry. She cried out, but just like every other virgin pussy he’d ever had, a few kisses and a stroke or two on the clit shut them right up. He babbled some shit about how special she was, blah blah blah, and enjoyed the tight ride she gave him. He loved how tight virgins were, and he never fucked them more than once. But she’d learn it soon enough.
Afterwards, he handed her a towel. “Sit on this okay? I don’t want to get blood on the leather.” That was the downside of cherry girls, bleeding all over his shit. He tossed the used condom out the window and drove her home.
He never paid her any special attention afterwards.

For those of you who are wondering if my cat typed my headline, the answer is no. I'm participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and I'm sharing it here to help keep me honest and on track.
The goal of NaNo (as it's more often called) is to write a 50k novel in 30 days. Now, between you and I, 50k is more of a novella than a novel, with most published books clocking in between 80 and 120k with obvious exceptions like Gone With the Wind and War and Peace, both of which could act as doorstops (unlike sneakers--I'll make the comment so Juno doesn't have to--wink wink). My personal goal is to hit 60k or higher.
Last year I clocked in at 50,008 and fell over and collapsed. It was hard, grueling, and required me to throw in several rather stupid plot twists to keep going. The truth is that prior to last year my longest work was in the neighborhood of 30k. Luckily I didn't figure that out until later because it might have scared me off.
The novel I chose to write last year was effectively chick lit, which allowed for some sex, but it was primarily a plot driven, girl meets boy, boy is an idiot and loses girl, boy and girl get back together and it all ends happily kind of story. Interestingly enough, as I've struggled with the rewrite of the novel (I'm about 25k words and 1/4 of the way in), length hasn't been an issue. My secondary couple taking over the book has been the "problem." I'm not giving up on the story, but I am letting it sit while I do research to make the characters more authentic and fill in some back story and such.
This year, I'm doing something infinitely harder. I've decided to write erotica. I have a short story that I've wanted to turn into a novel for some time now (and in fact, had started to try on my old laptop....before my old hard drive crashed back in February...and totally lost because no, I hadn't backed it up....the lesson, friends, is to BACK SHIT UP). I think I've finally figured out a smart way to do the plot, I've researched the historical angles I need to research, and I'm chomping at the bit to get going.
I've created a new screen name (as several students and others who could blow my identity) and re-registered. Happily Deliciously Naughty was not already taken. For those of you who are doing it, please pm me and friend me so that I can do the same. I don't care if you're doing erotica or not-I know from personal experience how grueling it can be, and we can all use cheerleaders to get through this in one piece.
Which is also to say that posting here will continue, generally as an attempt to escape from the novel when it's pissing me off or my main characters are acting uppity and trying to take over the novel. On occasion it may be intermittentent, but I will reward you with sex scenes and progress and all that jazz.
Who else is in? Come be insane with me!

With the impending arrival of Harry Potter 7, I've been thinking a lot about favorite series that I've read or watched, and how I've dealt with the loss of them. For while I am excited and eagerly awaiting midnight and the feel of a hefty new Harry Potter in my hands, I'm also saddened because it's the end of an era. From here on out, Harry will only live in our imaginations.
Well, in our imaginations and in the millions of pages of fan fiction that have been written in his honor.
Fan fiction, for those who are unfamiliar, is a story set in an established world, such as the Star Trek universe, the Harry Potter universe, etc. Some authors embrace fan fiction (Mercedes Lackey even published two volumes of fan fic short stories written in Valdemar), while others embrace only PG-13esque fan fiction (JK Rowling's people have sent out cease and decease letters to sites publishing XXX Potter Fan Fic), and others don't want it at all (Disney). How do you know when it's safe to write fan fic and when it's not? You don't. You write it and post it with a disclaimer and move on with your life. In most cases, the creators of the worlds that you're writing in like fan fic because it spreads and encourages people to engage with the material, which in turn sells books, movies, and other assorted promotional items.
Arguably, as long as you're not trying to earn money off it, you have the right to write it. I would argue that it's respectful to take down something if you're asked to, but that's the author in me speaking. I once had a request to write a sequel to something I'd written and after reading their work, I said I'd prefer if they didn't. I was grateful to have my wishes respected.
My own history with fan fic began as a game of pretend. I used to devour the Babysitter's Club books by Ann Martin when I was a young girl. I wanted so badly to be part of that world that I would play pretend that I was a certain character (Kristy, if you care) or that character's older stepsister so I could write stories about my adventures with the girls in the books (non sexual-we're talking 8, 9, 10 years old here). At this point, my "stories" were maybe a page or two, and more often were played out in my head and by pretending that they were going on. The next series I got particularly hooked on was Sweet Valley High (I know, I'm cringing here, too), but again it was in my head and I played pretend more than I wrote.
My first fan fic type of work was a story I wrote my freshman year in high school called something absurd like "The Curse of the Silver Horse Charm" which was a blatant rip off of Christopher Pike's books, stylistically speaking. While his books didn't really take place in a different universe, like in fantasy books, there's a very specific style that he writes in, and I ripped it off, sadly while thinking I was soooooo clever and original (sigh).
Around the time that I started watching Star Trek The Next Generation (TNG to my fellow Trekkies), I was hitting new hormonal heights, and poor Wesley Crusher became the object of my desire. I spent many hours imagining increasingly sexual encounters with Wesley's character (which makes me cringe most of all considering that his character was a bit of a git, in retrospect) as my own sexuality developed. It was a harmless crush, as most girls go through (finding someone who is so out of reach as to be safe to imagine sexual play with) at that point.
I didn't do a lot of creative writing in college because I took a fairly writing heavy major and minor (the minor being in French, which was writing in a whole other language). I kept journals, especially when I traveled abroad (something I still do when I travel). Once college wrapped up though, I was dating E, who introduced me to Literotica. One of my first writing forays was to finally put all those sexual fantasies I'd had as a teen into a cohesive narrative, and "Wesley's Woman" was born. On occasion (as in VERY rarely) I'll throw up a new chapter to the sequel I'm still theoretically writing called "Katherine and Q" (which was born more of a desire to write the Q character, and being too lazy to create a new framework to write him into when I already had a -relatively- solid narrative going).
For the most part fan fic is full of fanboys and girls living out desires like I did, or "fixing" story lines we feel that somone got wrong (or hadn't gotten right yet---the legions of Josh/Donna stories prior to seventh season West Wing boggles the mind).
The quality of fanfic ranges from the truly awful to the truly amazing. The best piece of fan fic I have ever read is called Harry Potter and the Eagle of Truthiness in which Stephen Colbert becomes the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts. If you love Harry Potter and are a huge fan of the Colbert Report (as I am) you MUST MUST MUST read this-and I'm not just saying that because Sabledrake is a Litbuddy.
Fanfic is a great way of extending a world that you love. If you're a writer who struggles for ideas, it's not a bad way to get yourself writing. If you're a more established writer, it's fun to play with other people's characters and work on voice in your writing. Some tips on writing fanfic are at the bottom of the post.
If you're interested in reading fanfic, I'd encourage you to go to
Fanfic huge site (many different genres)
Literotica has some good fanfic in the Celebrities section, as well.
Feel free to link good fanfic sites in the comments, but make sure you note which world the fanfic is for.
If you want to write fan fic, I'd encourage you to do several things before you write...
1-Reread/watch/listen to the work that you're writing fanfic for to fully immerse yourself in the world. When you write existing characters, the biggest challenge is that they sound true. One of the biggest compliments I've ever gotten is when I was told that people could hear John DeLancie saying the lines I was putting in Q's mouth and that I'd nailed the character's voice.
2-Decide who your character is and how they fit into the world. For example, I chose to give Jean-Luc Picard a daughter, and it's established canon that he doesn't like kids. So my character and Picard couldn't have this easy wonderful realtionship right off the bat because it's not true to the characters or the canon.
3-Include a disclaimer like the one from Literotica below
The stories in the "Celebrity" section of Literotica are all fictional parodies - none are true, nor are they approved of by the celebrities named in the stories. Authors write these fictitious stories about famous people for the same reason that Larry Flynt made fun of Jerry Falwell, because they can. The Supreme Court of the United States, the country where this site is located, has ruled that parodies involving famous people are perfectly and totally legal under the United States Constitution. The specific case law on this was decided in the case of "Hustler Magazine, Inc. et al. v. Jerry Falwell" in 1988. No harm is intended toward the celebrities featured in these stories, but they are public figures and in being so, they must accept that they are fair target for parodies by the public. We believe in the first amendment, and more broadly, in the basic principle of free speech and this section may push the boundaries of that principle, but the United States Supreme Court has approved of this type of material. We believe that the Supreme Court was correct in their decision
4-Don't get discouraged if it takes a few tries to nail your characters.
I wish you the best of luck.
It probably goes without saying that I'm likely to not post over the weekend because I'll be reading Harry Potter 7.
As a heads up-if anyone responds to this post with spoilers on HP7 before 8/1, I will ban your IP no matter who you are or how good a friend you are of mine in real life. I love you all, but spoiling the ending of a series after 10 years is just wrong.
Happy reading and writing!

In the six or so months that I've been blogging, I've tried to post everyday. As I read through the archives, I realize that the result of that effort has occasionally affected the quality of the blog.
I love this blog and I want it to be consistent.
So I've decided that I'm not going to force myself to write in it every day. Between this blog, the teacher blog I maintain (if you want a link and are a teacher, email me, but I warn you it has zero sex in it and lots of dissection of curriculum) my novel, and the short stories I'm working on I'm just overwhelmed.
Keep checking back, or better yet, add me to your feed.
I promise I'm not going anywhere. I just won't grace you with my presence if I have nothing to contribute to the conversation.

I'm taking questions for next week's podcast...just leave them in the comments section.
Enjoy-I think we solved the volume issue (although partially I had to speak louder which I'm concerned is less sexy).
Listen to Podcast #2-Tips on Writing Erotica
Before we get into today’s topic of writing erotica, I want to answer two of my reader’s questions.
Wendy wanted to know exactly what a podcast is. A podcast is an audio post that you can listen to here on my site by clicking the play button, or that you can download and play on your iPod or other listening devices that support mp3 files. I decided to start trying podcasts because I like listening to them, and because it gives me a chance to play around with the idea of talking about sex as a job before jumping into phone sex this summer.
Vir Modestus wanted to know if there was a porn equivalent to Netflix. There is indeed. The first and cheapest option is youporn.com which is a porn equivalent to youtube. It’s a lot of amateur stuff, clips from movies, anime, and the like. The bonus is that it’s free and immediate gratification. AVN (Adult Video News) has recommended wantedlist.com for the past three years as the best video rental site. The monthly cost is between $23 dollars a month for 3 and $43 dollars a month for 8 at a time. Youporn is obviously international, and WantedList is US only.
I’m holding Erotic Rambling’s questions for next week.
Leave any questions you’d like answered in the comments section here or email me at the link below my picture.
Now, onto this week’s topic.
I was surprised by the number of people I have talked to, instant messaged and emailed who have said that they’d like to write erotica but can’t. Granted, some people are more gifted writers than others and it comes more easily to them, but then some people are more gifted with numbers. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to calculate a 20% tip for your cab driver or figure out how much interest your bank account will accrue this year.
I wrote my first piece of erotica in February or March of 2002, which I submitted for publication on Literotica. I have long since taken it and several of my other first pieces down. The earliest piece that’s still up is Among the Stacks, which I wrote in July of 2002.
So all in all, I’ve been doing this for five years with varying degrees of quality and success. In that time I’ve learned some valuable tips which I will pass on to you.
In school, your teachers tell you to write for an audience. Generally that audience is your teacher or your classmates. In college and graduate school it might be for the publication committee of a trade journal. In your work life it might be your boss or your client. Certainly if you’re writing professionally, you write what you think the audience will respond to and purchase.
The nice thing about erotica, at least amateur erotica is that the only audience is you.
You aren’t writing to get a “hot” rating on Literotica. You aren’t writing to make money from Penthouse. You’re writing to get yourself off.
How to begin? My best advice for getting started is if you have a laptop, take it to bed with you, or wherever you feel sexiest. If you’re a woman, I highly recommend wearing sexy lingerie to help get you in the mood. If you’re a guy, I’m told silk boxers are a great stimulant. If you have a desktop, just try to get as comfortable as you can in your chair. You can light candles or put on music, if it will help.
Open up a word document and close your eyes. Think about the fantasy that plays through your head most often. Not the politically correct one, but the one that gets you off hardest and most often. Let it begin to play out, and feel free to play with yourself.
Then stop, open your eyes and begin typing. Don’t worry about spelling and punctuation the first time through. Just get it down. Talk about how hard your cock feels, what her pussy feels like when you enter it (or her mouth or her ass, or his mouth and his ass for that matter). Talk about the circle of men that surround you and run their hands over your body. Fuck the clichés…they’re cliché for a reason and it’s your fantasy.
As you type, your body should be responding. I’ve never written erotica and not gotten wet from it.
Write in the first or third person, whatever works for you.
You may have to stop and masturbate to orgasm to finish or you may type all the way through and then pounce your significant other.
Get the scene on paper and go away for a few days. Then go back and edit your spelling, punctuation, grammar and whatever else you want to do.
Your first few pieces will most likely be vignettes of sex. Slowly go back and add to the story both before and after. Why are your characters doing what they’re doing? What happens next? Are there consequences for their actions?
If you want to share your stories, I’d recommend Literotica. It’s a free site, and they’ll publish damn near anything with the exception of sex featuring those under 18 (for legal reasons) and bestiality. The quality of the stories ranges from very low to practically publishable.
A word to the wise—for the first few stories, don’t take feedback unless you can handle the good and the bad. For every nice comment, there’s a troll or two lurking.
When you have a written piece, it’s great for rereading to yourself to get yourself off. If it stars a loved one, sharing it with them could make them feel loved and special. Sexyhusband adores the two stories I’ve written for him and is eagerly awaiting his third story. It’s also a good way to open up a dialogue between you and a partner if you have a fantasy and you’re not sure how they’re going to react.
Erotica, in the end, is about making yourself happy. You are the only person the story HAS to arouse. It may not work out the first time, but as with all skills the only way to become a better writer is to write. Eventually you will find your groove, and when you do, I know you’ll find as much enjoyment from it as I do.
This has been Deliciously Naughty and that’s this week’s podcast.
